During a year’s residency in Paris at the Ecole des Beaux Arts, I made this work. Considering the fact that I was quite ill most of that time, suffering from relentless skin rashes all over my neck and face and constant fatigue, I managed to go out into the gardens and environs of the school and shoot these images. I also collected my ampules of homeopath and made sculptures with them. I also became more interested in velvet and nylons. These materials have resurfaced again and again in my work. As I look back now at this work, I consider it very fruitful and a turning point. There are a lot more images than I can show here, let’s just say, exposing a lot more than I feel comfortable uploading to the internet.
